Mohican

Went to Mohican State Forest for some caching while in Mt. Vernon this weekend. I haven't been there for a long time, and never walked on the bridle trails. It was quite a hike - would have been a hell of a lot easier on horseback. We wanted to climb the firetower there - that would have made for some great pictures, I'll bet. But when we got there there were other people up there. Imagine - OTHER people using the park. Hmph! And after the hike we were just too damn tired. I'll have to get back for that. Mohican has so many trails, there's canoeing nearby, horseback riding, waterslides, mini-golf - you could spend an entire weekend there.

Found this cache in a hollow in the ground - looks like a tree used to be there or something. Or maybe its a big termite hill. Who knows? Posted by Picasa

Found these weird little things growing under a tree - anyone know what they are? Posted by Picasa

Crossing a natural bridge - no other way to get to the cache without getting wet. Posted by Picasa

Any geocacher worth their salt knows what an unusual pile of sticks means - there's the cache! Posted by Picasa
